One person's....

... enhancement is another person's bodge.  I've been re-assembling the carburetors and installing the new kits we received from SNG Barrett last week.  Fortunately the kits are pretty complete so the springs for the jets could be discarded and replaced with springs that match unlike the ones in the picture.
Cleaned and with new kits installed

Springs of different sizes, they are for the jets so probably didn't make much difference

Carbs back on the engine but without the fuel lines or attachments to the throttles or chokes.

Fuel line after cleaning.

This is what I was referring to in my comment about 'bodges', it always amazes me how someone thinks they can 'improve' the cars performance by making 'hacks' on the car.   These cars were very well engineered and they paid very close attention to intake airflow and yet someone comes along and hacks a hole in the air filter box thinking that somehow this will improve the air flow to the carbs.

Parts of the intake preped for paint

Looks like the air filter was changed right after Christmas back in 1993

Cleaned and the edges straightened

Firewall hack, you can just see where a panel was riveted  in
Another hack that I don't understand, this is the firewall over the passenger footwell.  I wonder why someone cut a hole here?

Patch riveted in place

Sealed and ready for paint, shouldn't be visible since this side is towards the engine

I was tired of cleaning stuff and the wind was keeping me from paintint so decided to tackle the drivers side door and install the new door handle.
Installed the new door handle with it's rubber gaskets, it was a pita getting my hands up inside the door!

Door card in place, still need an armrest for this door.  I suspect this door came from another car, likely a '68 since it didn't have the original mounts for an armrest.  It was originally Opalescent Maroon then white, then it's current color, red.

One last thing, the car finally has a name!  Michelle has named it RJ, She has always called it the 'red Jag' so 'RJ' was a natural!
